Our Swimming Clubs

Waterlane Leisure Centre is host to many local aquatic clubs. We work closely with our clubs and groups as they are key stakeholders in our centre and provide some truly excellent activities.

Lowestoft & Oulton Broad Swimming Club

Lowestoft & Oulton Broad Swimming Club are a community swimming club, based in and around Lowestoft, Suffolk, UK.

They cater for:

Training for competitive swimming

Based at the Waterlane Leisure Centre, also using Warren School pool. We cater for all abilities, from those just out of Learn-to-Swim to those who compete at National Level.

Training for fitness

We are happy to integrate swimmers who want to train for fitness, into our squad training programme.

Swimmers with disabilities

We have a Learn-to-Swim group specifically for learners with disabilities. We integrate swimmers with disabilities into our squad training programme. We have a track-record of high-achieving swimmers who compete at national and international level.

They are affiliated to the Suffolk County Amateur Swimming Association and to the East Region Amateur Swimming Association. All members are registered and insured through the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA), the National Governing Body for swimming.

They have achieved the ASA standard for club management, Swim21, for Teaching and Skill Development. We also hold the Sport England ClubMark accreditation.

They are run entirely by volunteers.

The club has been in existence since 2005 and was an amalgamation of the former Oulton Broad Swimming and Diving Club and the Lowestoft Swimming Club.
